Hot jobs in sunny Queensland

Whatever your reasons might be for packing up and heading off, you might like to know that the Queensland Government is currently looking to fill over 150,000 job vacancies in various locations and vocations.

THE decision has been made:  you’ve decided to go home, or perhaps your residency visa has just been approved and you and your whole family are celebrating the prospect of migrating to Australia soon or you’ve been given a 12 month work visa.

The Queenslanders are nothing if not innovative and have responded to the continuing high migration to the Sunshine State by welcoming new migrants and returning expats with an impressive choice of career opportunities right across the board.

Whether you are a student or a graduate looking for opportunities, a young person trying to get an apprenticeship or traineeship, or a mature-age worker looking for something challenging, Queensland will welcome you.

Anyone in the medical profession, from cardiologist to trainee nurse, can have their pick of some of the best hospitals in Australia; likewise the teaching profession from University professor to a newly qualified primary school teacher are all in high demand. Town planners, IT and software specialists, landscape gardeners, crime investigators and those in the highway construction industry are virtually guaranteed a challenging and rewarding career that can make a huge difference to their own lives and the lives of all Queenslanders.

Earn-while-you-learn with Queensland Government is an exciting initiative designed to attract young people into taking up apprenticeships and traineeships within a traditional trade like electricians, plumbers, chefs and builders which leads to a qualification that is internationally recognised.

Ken Regan from Australian Homebuyers International told me that Queensland is one of Australia’s fastest growing states with over four million people and added: “Obviously, as a West Australian myself, I’m a bit biased, but I have to admit that Queensland features some of the most diverse environments in the world — from tropical rainforests to deserts, and, as if that isn’t enough it’s also got quality affordable housing.”

Certainly for anyone who wants a relaxed lifestyle with a beautiful clean environment and a relatively low cost of living, Queensland is hard to beat. People who live in Northern NSW up towards the border tend to do most of their major shopping in Queensland, including buying or renting cars because it’s about 30% cheaper than in NSW.  I know this for a fact folks, because I live in Byron Bay!

“Yes, affordability is a key factor in the present economic climate, so a state which offers so many career and job opportunities plus a vibrant economy is bound to be popular,” Ken said.

If you still have any doubts about which state in Australia to settle in, then this direct quote from www.jobs.qld.gov.au should help to make up your mind:

“We welcome people from interstate and overseas with ideas, skills and initiative to share our quality of life that ranks with the best in the world.”

“Check out our website to find out more about living in Queensland and especially the state capital Brisbane,” Ken said.

“Anyone who is considering buying a home there should come and have a chat with us at our London office.  We have a large selection of house and land packages in Queensland which are suitable for investors, returning expats or new migrants.”
