SOME of the biggest names in the Australian insurance market are Allianz, AAMI, AXA, CGU, GIO, QBE, RACV and Suncorp. The big four banks – ANZ, The Commonwealth Bank of Australia, NAB and Westpac – can also offer you tailored insurance products.

As with choosing the correct bank for you, it is advisable to consult a financial advisor about these products, as they can match a particular product to suit your finances and needs. As an example, The Commonwealth Bank of Australia, who sponsor Move To Australia, can provide insurance on your new Australian home as well as a range of personal insurance options, details of which are below.

General insurance

The Commonwealth Bank of Australia* offers a home and contents cover, which is available separately or as a combined discounted policy for your protection and peace of mind. There are also flexible payment arrangements — monthly or annually – to suit your financial needs.

*The issuer and insurer of Home & Content Insurance is Commonwealth Insurance Limited (CIL) ABN 96 067 524 216 AFSL 235030 and the Commonwealth Bank of Australia ABN 48 123 123 124 AFSL 234945 is an arranger of the insurance. CIL is a wholly owned but non-guaranteed subsidiary of the Commonwealth Bank of Australia. The Commonwealth Bank of Australia and its subsidiaries (excluding CIL) do not guarantee the obligations or performance of CIL or the products they offer. A Product Disclosure Statement for Home and Contents Insurance is available by downloading from comminsure.com.au or by calling 132 423 and should be considered before making any decision about these products.”
