Popular British TV presenter, Graham Norton dismissed Australia’s inclusion in the 2015 Eurovision contest.

The 52-year-old told reporters at London’s Bafta awards that “It’s a nonsense”.

“The one thing the contest doesn’t need is another song,” he said.

Each year Norton provides commentary on the song contest for the BBC.

According to the Independent newspaper, Norton said that he did not understand why Australia was included, and that if Australia were to win the contest, Germany should host the contest next year.

One  time Australian Idol winner Guy Sebastian will be representing Australia at Eurovison 2015
