Ellen Degeneres hosted her final show and the last episode was surely an emotional one. After 19 seasons, the host is seeking new opportunities and challenging ones at that.

Seeking new ventures

When Ellen Degeneres first started her show in 2003, she shared that her show almost didn’t happen as producers felt that it wouldn’t work.

“Twenty years ago, when we were trying to sell the show, no one thought that this would work. Not because it was a different kind of show, but because I was different,”

Today, the Ellen show is incredibly popular which explains why the show ran for so long. As for the show ending, the host feels that she needs to move on with new things and find something challenging.

According to ABC News, Ellen Degeneres was discriminated against a lot because of her sexuality. The host even shared that she couldn’t talk about her wife as it was taboo to speak about gay relationships.

Alas, all things must come to an end and Ellen Degeneres felt quite strongly about it. While she does not know what she will be doing next, Ellen has decided that she and her wife will take a trip and decide from there.

Thus far, Ellen is believed to have donated over $400 million to watchers and some people who were in need. Her philanthropic efforts continued until this year and would most likely still continue.

During the last episode, pop singer Pink performed ‘what about us’ while Jennifer Aniston praised Ellen for all the good she has done and how she impacted her life.
