Central Saint Martins College of Arts and Design freshers, undergraduates and post graduate students have begun the first year at The Granary. The college’s new home has a brand new postcode, N1C, and is at the heart of the new King’s Cross Central development and offers light, bright modern spaces to take CSM through the 21st century.

Central Saint Martins College of Art & Design is internationally renowned as a hotbed for new talent with alumni prominent throughout the world in all areas of art, design, fashion and performance.

Courses across the three schools — Fine Art, Graphic and Industrial Design, Fashion and Textiles and the Centre for Performance – have been revalidated to incorporate the range of opportunities provided by the building and brand new courses have been developed.  MA Photography and MA Art and Science are two of the new courses now being offered as part of the Postgraduate Art Programme.  The CSM site at Archway, just ten minutes away by the 390 bus, provides more studio space and print facilities for all students.

The move represents a huge commitment to the future of the college by the staff and students of Central Saint Martins and University of the Arts London (of which CSM is a part), the King’s Cross Central Limited Partnership and architects Stanton Williams.

Professor Jane Rapley OBE, Head of Central Saint Martins, says: “For more than 150 years Central Saint Martins has pioneered radical innovations in art and design teaching and learning.

“Our new building allows us to create the highest quality learning environment — a place connected to the most advanced developments in contemporary culture and industry — a place where students and staff will continue to provoke, challenge, inspire and take risks.”
