Speeding continues to cause accidents in Sydney

High speed can be a direct cause of accidents, especially when it comes to curves and sloping road sections where it is mandatory to comply with the speed limit.

An accident occurred on January 22 in Sydney, Australia. In the investigation into the accident, a man was blamed for the accident because he was speeding.

It was observed that the driver was moving at a speed of 144 km/h in the area marked 70 km/h. In fact, it was determined in the records that the man reached a speed of 170 km/h on the same route.

The accident occurred after the car crashed into a concrete pillar. The 29-year-old driver, who was thought to have caused the accident, was arrested.

While one of the passengers in the car with the driver was not injured, another was slightly injured. Both are hospitalised for precautionary and treatment purposes.

While the license of the arrested young driver is suspended; It is stated that the court will be on April 18.

High speed kills in traffic!

High speed driving behaviour is a very important traffic violation that has a direct impact on the number of accidents. In the report titled Managing Speed, which was prepared by the World Health Organization, the definition of speeding behaviour was adopted as excessive speeding above the legal speed limit or driving at a high speed that does not exceed the legal speed limit but is not suitable for the current conditions.

Compared to a control zone where the speed limit has not changed, the number of injury accidents per kilometre travelled increased by 24% during the period of increased speed and decreased by 19.3% during the period when the speed limit was reduced.
