Kate Middleton in Woman’s Day photoshop disaster

Woman's Day magazine slammed over ridiculously photoshopped image of Kate Middleton, making her almost unrecognisable.

The Woman’s Day editorial desk have a lot to answer for after a ham-fisted hatchet job on their Kate Middleton front cover this week.

The Duchess was initially photographed when she made a public appearance to open the Kensington Leisure Centre in London on 19 January, wearing a baby blue coat, natural make up and diamond earrings. The pregnant 33-year-old was glowing and holding a bouquet of flowers.

Australian weekly magazine Woman’s Day published a picture of the Duchess at the event on the cover of their Australian magazine this week, but Kate had changed.

The image that eventually graced the cover and beamed back at terrified shoppers at supermarket checkouts across Australia had been altered almost to beyond recognition.

Middleton’s features had been over-emphasised, her eyes sharpened and brightened, her under eyes darkened and her lipstick and blush exaggerated. An extra twinkle has also been added to her earrings. The end result… well, Madame Tussauds would be sending this one back for a refund.

Within hours of publication, tabloids and social media commentators expressed outrage at Middleton’s “unflattering makeover”.

Look, it’s less that Woman’s Day photoshopped Kate Middleton badly & more that they gave her Steve Buscemi eyes: pic.twitter.com/Py7sqwnsON
