Tahnee Shanks: Australian woman missing in Mexico

An Australian woman from Whitsundays Queensland has gone missing in Mexico. She has been identified as Tahnee Shanks from Conway beach.

Tahnee Shanks: Australian woman missing in Mexico

Tahnee Shanks went missing on Monday according to authorities in Cancun, Mexico. This comes after she has been stuck in Mexico due to the coronavirus pandemic. 

2-year-old Adelynn is alone without her mother Tahnee Shanks

Thus far, Tahnee and her daughter were planning to return to Australia in mid-June this year. Mexican authorities have since announced that she is a missing person in Cancun. 

Right now, the daughter of Tahnee Shanks has been abandoned at a local church in Mexico. Daniel Shanks, the brother of Tahnee relayed that three witnesses saw her father leave her at the church. 

Mexican authorities share that both Tahnee Shanks and her boyfriend had gone missing on Monday. The police are currently trying to track their phones to note their last location. 

Adelynn to meet her family for the first time

To date, Mexican authorities do not know much. At this stage, the police filed a missing person report. 

At the moment, Daniel Shanks shared that he will be unable to fly over to Mexico as he is unvaccinated. Instead, his mother and brother will be taking the soonest flight to Mexico as reported by Daily Mail.  

As shared on Tahnee Shanks social media, two-year-old Adelynn has been unable to meet her family as a result of the pandemic.

Last seen

According to 7News, Tahnee had been planning on coming back to Australia after her relationship with her partner deteriorated. Before going missing, she posted some heartbreak songs as well as poems.

Her partner, Aguirre Astudillo is also missing. According to reports, he is a Mexican citizen. Some three witnesses claim they saw him drop off his daughter at the local church.
