Personal Responsibility: PM Says NSW Must Use Common Sense

Personal responsibility has been trending on Twitter after the Prime Minister of NSW decided that a mask mandate is not needed. Others do not quite agree.

Despite the city’s high infection rate with almost 3000 infections in one day on Tuesday, a mask mandate is not the way to go according to Scott Morrison.

Since the NSW has faced a hard hand from the government such as paying hefty fines and strict mask mandates for indoor activities, the state is taking a turn in its plan to manage the pandemic this time around.

So, what does this mean for the festive season? Well, since it is in your power to control the decisions you make, this might not mean repeating the mistakes of the past. It might just be time to be extra vigilant and take up the personal responsibility granted to you.

While the Omicron variant is still under study, some wished that the government had held onto the indoor mask mandate as reported by The Guardian

One thing is for certain, another replay of 2020 is most certainly not welcome and with the decision within the hands of Australians, we can hope that everyone has the same goal in mind. That is, to live covid free.

Ahead of the cabinet, the Prime Minister made it clear that measures currently in place are that which Australians are able to live with.

“We have put in place measures that Australians can live with and what that means is, we have to move from a culture of mandates to a culture of responsibility.”
