Variety is back! Or so says Aussie comedienne Claudia O’Doherty

Crash, bang, wallop! It’s The Claudia O’Doherty Experience! An elaborate season of ‘nofeather-boas-allowed’ Friday night cabaret shows, presented by Australia’s prodigal daughter Claudia O’Doherty.

ONCE as popular a form of entertainment as modern day reality-TV, variety shows are making a slow and steady comeback. Whilst we all remember with fondness the long-running Hey Hey It’s Saturday as a prime example of the Australian variety show format, modern audiences may find they need a little more than a talking puppet and a spinning wheel to be entertained these days.

Enter Australian comedienne Claudia O’Doherty, who is bringing back the variety show format with a bang with The Claudia O’Doherty Experience at The Invisible Dot Ltd.

Luminous eccentric, habitual innovator and Edinburgh Comedy Award nominee, O’Doherty plays host to this run of Friday night shows featuring special guests, crass levels of showmanship and wonderfully decadent surprises.

Claudia promises an evening of Friday night entertainment like never before experienced. Having performed to sell out audiences in Australia, New Zealand, London and Edinburgh, Claudia received her Edinburgh Comedy Award nomination for her 2012 Fringe show The Telescope. With a move to London now permanent, an elaborate season of ‘no-feather-boas-allowed’ Friday night cabaret shows is the perfect introduction to one of London’s most exciting recent imports.

The preview show will be held on 15 March at The Invisible Dot Ltd, with further shows on 5, 12, 19 and 26 April.

Tickets are £10 (£6 preview). See www.theinvisibledot.com for more information.
