Hugh Jackman is said to be working on a Broadway show The Music Man that has now come to a halt after Hugh Jackman tested positive for Covid-19.
The Australian actor confirmed the news on his Twitter account in where he stated he would like to break the news before anyone else does.

“I tested positive for covid. Mild symptoms and looking forward to getting back on stage ASAP!”
This comes after his co-star Sutton Foster came down with the virus last week and was replaced by an understudy.
Hugh hopes to return to the stage as soon as possible.
In light of this information, Hugh Jackman is only expected to return on the 6th of January in 2022.
Other Broadway Shows Cancelled
At the same time, many other Broadway shows such as The Lion King, Aladdin, and Hamilton have been canceled as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
Since the coronavirus pandemic hit, the visual arts world has been impacted the most and really depends on the funds raised by these shows. It is said that performers depend on full stadiums to make good profits.
Hugh Will Only Be Back On Stage By 6th January
Presently, the show has not been struggling as they have been fully booked so far. Producers say that performances will be canceled through 1 January 2022.
Dozens of shows have been forced to cancel as a result of the pandemic.
Presently, New York is experiencing a surge in Omicron infections and this is one of the reasons the Broadway shows needed to be canceled.
So, Omicron infections are however expected to be less impactful than other variants according to studies by the CDC and as Hugh stated, he is experiencing mild symptoms.
The Music Man is currently running in a preview ahead of an official opening scheduled for February 10.
