Getting jiggy with Jayson Norris at Homelanz

Before he takes to the Homelanz stage on Saturday, London based Kiwi musician Jayson Norris lets Australian Times know just how excited he is to be playing one of the biggest gigs of his life.

“IT’S  great to be part of something which manages to bring lots of people together and let everyone enjoy themselves. But Homelanz is so much more than that!

First, you have the music. Sneaky Sound System, Katchafire and Ladi6 representing Oz and NZ from all the way back home while myself, Melic, Lotus Mason, Townhall Steps and Brooke Supple are all London based artists flying the flags over here! Plus funny man Jarred Christmas will be taking the mic during the day and we’ve got wonderful cultural performances from Ngatiranana and Francis Firebrace.

Then, you have the food. If you’ve been missing something from back home, I’m sure won’t go hungry at Homelanz.

And if that wasn’t enough, you also have the wine. It is without doubt that Australasia has some of the finest wines in the world AND there’s going to be plenty of cold beers from back home if you fancy that instead.

But what I’m really looking forward to is seeing some of my good friends perform on the big stage as well as hanging with other friends for drink and a catch up.

To hear those Katchafire tunes played out to the crowd and live in London will be massive!

For my set, I’m stoked to be joined on stage by Paul Russell, Tom Fry and Rikk Smith (my long term percussionist). I’ll be playing tunes from both my albums as well as a couple of new ones!

It’s going to be a great day and I can’t wait! Hope to see you all there.” – Jayson Norris

QUICKFIRE WITH JAYSON NORRIS

Favourite Jayson Norris song: ‘Freedom To Live’ or ‘Much Love’.

Favourite song of all time: A tough question and pretty much impossible to answer but let’s pull one out of the hat and say…’Bohemian Rhapsody’.

Favourite band of all time: Queen were amazing but then so was Nirvana but then again so is Eminem.

Favourite travel destination: Maldives or the Far North of New Zealand.

Favourite thing to do when not playing music: Hanging with my son or playing golf, fishing and scuba diving.

Don’t miss Jayson Norris, Sneaky Sound System and many more at Homelanz this Saturday. For tickets and more information, go to www.homelanz.co.uk
