Elvis film receives a standing ovation for over twelve minutes

Elvis was an artist known to many. Truth be told, the legend still lives on today. Through the biopic, fans and others are able to see what it was like to be an icon.

Embodying Elvis for the biopic

Today, there are many Elvis impersonators, and heck, Kourtney Kardashian and her husband Travis Barker found one pretty easily for their practice Las Vegas wedding.

Thus far, many are impressed with the way Austin Butler embodied who Elvis was. Quite frankly, the actor actually lost his sense of self after he wrapped up the film in March 2021.

“You can lose touch with who you actually are. And I definitely had that when I finished Elvis – not knowing who I was,”

According to BuzzFeed News, Austin Butler was still pretty much Elvis after he finished filming the biopic. Because of this, the actor needed to be hospitalized for a week.

A 12-minute standing ovation was received

But, it seems his hard work has paid off as the Elvis biopic was received well at the Cannes Festival recently. If you have the approval of Priscilla Presley, then surely you’re good to go.

At the Cannes Festival recently, the Elvis biopic received a standing ovation and twelve minutes at that. That could only be that the film accomplished what the life of the icon looked like.

To date, the Daily Mail shared that some were not quite impressed with how little they showed the relationship between Presley and his manager Tom Parker. So far, people expected the film to show the toxic relationship between Presley and Tom.

So far, the release date for the biopic is set to be in Australian theatres on June 24th.
