Dr Dre among others proved they’re the GOAT at Superbowl on Sunday

Dr Dre has certainly outdone himself by putting together such an iconic group of people together. He brought the likes of Mary J Blige, Kendrick Lamar, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, and no other than 50 cent.

Dr Dre put together a good sequence

The Super Bowl is the biggest event of the year where the NFL Sport is concerned. This year, there is somewhat of a cultural difference in the 2022s halftime show. That is, the most popular artists in the Hip Hop industry have made an appearance in the show.

Now, they only got about 12 minutes for their performance. But, they did all they could in what was the most anticipated event of the year. Mary J Blige was one of the stars at the Super Bowl on Sunday. She performed two of her most popular songs. This is of course family affair and no more drama as reported by The Guardian.

The “no more drama” singer expressed that she was very honored that Dr Dre asked her to be a part of the halftime show. She further added that she is very happy to be respected and acknowledged by her peers.

While each artist has their own style and story to tell, it is of significance that Dr Dre has mentored some of them and has also produced some of their head-bopping tunes. This is one reason why they all make such a good group to watch.

Cultural significance

During this short period of time, we could see the likes of Kendrick Lamar appearing out of a box to perform Maad City as well as 50 cent performing In Da Club and recreated his video as he was visibly seen hanging from a pole.

Dancers were also in the vicinity but in a  building that looked like the city of Compton in where Dr Dre grew up. From this, you can probably tell that there was a lot going on and that the 12 minutes felt like an entire show. Totally worth it.

Now, the Super Bowl is actually lucky to have gotten these incredible acts as they prohibited football players to speak up about racism about five years ago. This resulted in all the headliner stars to withdrawing from the event in support of the latter. All in all, the event was a huge success this time around.
