Tech professionals says they’d swap the UK for Australia

Almost 75 per cent of the respondents in a UK survey of IT and ITC professionals said Australia would immigrate in a heart beat.

According to The Dice Survey of the 550 participants in the UK poll the respondents’ second choice of ideal places to live is Australia, just after the USA, and that they would take an opportunity as soon as it is presented.

Would be expats favourited the US, hotly followed by Australia and Canada coming in as a third option.  France, Germany, New Zealand and Spain were also more desirable than the UK reveals the survey published by recruiter Dice earlier this week.

“Tech professionals fully recognise the highly transferable nature of their skills,” Dice’s marketing director in the UK and continental Europe Jamie Bowler said. “As a result, tech professionals are often more open than other professionals to the concept of moving – whether to improve their career or their lifestyle.”

The biggest factor sending tech workers overseas are lifestyle-related or a better work and life balance, rather than financial incentives, the recruiter said.
