Twitch has confirmed that they have indeed suffered a breach of information. Can it get any worse than this?
The now Amazon-owned company which has over 7 million users suffered a breach of 125 gigabytes worth of data. The data sharer revealed that the data was shared to “foster more disruption and competition in the online video streaming space”.
Among other things, the platform allowed live gaming to be shared with followers. How the revealed information should create competition, we do not know.
Coming back to the Twitch scandal, it is evident that this data breach has caused more chaos than competition. If anything, the company is a stake.
Further developments on the story reveal information as specific as client data has been revealed. How the company will bounce back will only be seen in a matter of time.
Over the years, Twitch has become a platform to engage in matters other than gaming.
