Thus far, The Longest Night deals with a serial killer that is a complete genius. That is when it comes to manipulating people into doing what he wants. That’s why it does not come as a surprise as an entire armed force comes for him.
Before Simon’s arrest, it appears that he had already killed someone. Right then, he receives a call from his associates that he is going to be arrested at that exact moment.
The Longest Night chaos takes place during the Christmas season
However, things quickly take a left turn after the police arrest him. Right then, The Longest Night begins to take off from starting out as a victorious night, into a murderous parade.
While in prison, Simon quickly becomes confident that the police will have no choice but to relieve him from the psychiatric prison. But, they do not let off that easy.
When things start to get out of hand, the police turn to their prisoners to help them protect their people and the entire psychiatric prison. From there, things evidently get trickier as they now face their mentally challenged prisoners being freed from their cells to fight Simon’s army.

Given that season one of The Longest Night kickstarts bombing and bloodshed, season two could be held at the same standards.
According to Martin CID, the tv series currently consists of 6 episodes. Right now, a second season of The Longest Night is yet to be announced. Judging by the ending, there should be a second season in the works.
