London Aussies must enrol to vote by 11am this Thursday to have their say in the election

President of ALP Abroad urges overseas Australians, particularly those in the UK, to make sure they are registered in time to vote in the upcoming federal election.

Australians living in the UK must be enrolled by 11am on Thursday 18th April, London time (8pm Australian Eastern Standard time) to be able to vote in the upcoming 2019 Federal Election.

If you are living overseas you can make sure you get your vote by:

  • Checking your enrollment with AEC: Click here
  • Enrolling to vote while outside of Australia if not already registered: Click here

Voting at Australia House in London can make a difference

Australia House in the Strand, London is the largest polling station in the UK. In the last federal election over 15,000 Australians voted there.

Labor representative Paul Smith, President of ALP Abroad, urged overseas Australians, particularly those in the UK, to make sure they are registered to vote.

“In the last election, the closest seat of Herbert was determined by overseas votes, so every vote counts. I urge Australians in London to make sure they are enrolled to vote,” Smith said.

“And vote Labor for an Australia to be proud of when overseas and provide a fair go for all when they go home,” he added.

When can you vote at Australia House in London?

Australia House in London will commence pre-poll voting in the 2019 Australian Federal Election on 6 May and finish on Friday 17 May – note: voting will not be possible on the date of the election, 18 May.
