WHAT an atmosphere it will be when the old foes go head to head at Motspur Park!

Demons versus Wildcats in all 3 grades the rivalry couldn’t get any bigger. The atmosphere at the Grand Final will be get more electric by the minute as the day goes on especial;y once the respective supporters have enjoyed a few ice cold VBs on hopefully what will be a hot London summers day!

In the early game the Demons who beat the Emus in the last kick of the day with less than a minute to go two weeks ago will enter the game as slight favourites, although this one should go right to the wire as these 2 teams have a fierce rivalry. Since the inception of the social league in 2007 these two teams have shared all the premierships with the Demons winning the inaugural title in 2007, the Emus bounced back in 2008, the Demons then took the title in 2009 before the Emus won last year so the big question is which team will win the 2011 title. In a close encounter expect the Emus to salute the judges and run out 15 point winners.

The Shepherds Bush Raiders advanced to the Grand Final with a comfortable win over the Lions in the 2nd Semi Final two weeks ago, whilst the Demons have had to come into the Grand Final the long way. Like all games amongst these two clubs this game will be a buzz from the get go as these two sides have battled out 7 Grand Finals with the Raiders winning all of these except one. The Raiders who took out the first 8 Conference titles then eventually lost the 2009 title to the Demons but then bounced back with vengeance last year so this year’s game will be just as intense as all the other previous battles. This game could be the real close one of the day and in a seesawing battle expect the Raiders to come out winners by 3 points in a heart stopper!

Then at 3pm it will be show time as these two old foes steam out onto the ground blowing steam out of their noses ready for the big battle! Like the other earlier games the Grand Final rivalry between these two is just as large. In the 1990’s the Wandsworth club too all before them winning 5 premierships whilst the Wildcats on the other hand back in those days couldn’t take a trick and lost 5 Grand Finals before they could finally win one in 2000. In 2003 the Demons upstaged the Wildcats who were undefeated all year but met a fired up Demons team on Grand Final day and lost that battle. Then the Wildcats went on a Grand Final winning run taking out 6 premierships in a row from 2004-2009, before the Demons evened the ledger at 7 premierships each last year. So who will be crowned the most successful club in history this Saturday by winning their 8th premiership? This game like the earlier two will be very hard to pick but in yet another close encounter expect the Wildcats to make it a perfect day for the club by winning the senior premiership by 17 points.

Make sure you are there to see all the exciting action this Saturday on AFL London Grand Final day!
