Tom Brady has officially decided to retire from the NFL at the age of forty-four. Despite his age, many have commented on how he was able to still play exceptionally well past his prime.
The NFL player decided that many other things require his attention at this moment and that he would like to give many other players the opportunity to reach their prime.
In a lengthy Instagram post, Tom Brady thanked everyone for all their support. He did not, however, mention the New England Patriots but did thank them in a post on Twitter. Tom Brady was with the Patriots for 20 seasons.
So far, rumors of his retirement first made their way to the media on Saturday but Brady had officially made his decision on Wednesday.

“I have loved my NFL career, and now it is time to focus my time and energy on other things that require my attention.”
In his career thus far, Tom Brady has won the Tampa Bay Buccanneers into the Super bowl. This would be his sixth Super Bowl win.
According to News.com.au, Brady leaves as the career leader in yards passing (84,520) and touchdowns (624). He is the only player to win more than five Super Bowls and was MVP of the game five times.
In 2020, Tom Brady joined the Buccanneers and instantly changed the position the team was in. The Tampa Bay Buccanneers hadn’t won a playoff game in 18 years before he arrived. Additionally, the Buccanneers have earned themselves a first-time place in the Super Bowl.
