When an Aussie bottle shop keeper fights back… with a baseball bat [VIDEO]

According to this Victorian drive-thru bottle shop worker, the customer isn’t always right.

Ray ‘the baseball bat’ Thomas fended off a would-be customer after they allegedly threatened to smash up the Bottle-O shop in Geelong.

In the video, after the customer follows him behind the counter Mr Thomas can be seen whipping out the baseball bat from under the bench and striking at the allegedly drunk man.

A violent scuffle ensues and the customer is apparently brought to the ground after several blows from the bat.

The incident happened over a year ago but the CCTV footage has only now been posted online. It is understood to have been uploaded by fellow Lord Nelson Tavern staff member  Ben Crafter now that the matter has been resolved in court.

According to the caption accompanying the YouTube post: “It was last year but he couldn’t speak of it until now due to legal reasons”

“He was arrested and charged and court is finished, $550 worth of broken bottles and a junkie with broken arm and bruises!”

Mr Thomas reportedly asked for the video to be posted online in the hope that it would go viral and help highlight some of the issues that people have to contend with at work.
