Sydney Town Hall turns pink and flies Gay pride flag for Orlando shooting victims

In a salute to the victims of the Orlando nightclub shooting tragedy, the centre of Sydney has turned pink.

The gesture on Monday signalled the city’s solidarity with the victims of the attack at the Pulse nightclub in the United States as well as with Sydney’s LGBT community who, along with LGBT people the world over, feel a particular horror at the events which unfolded overnight.

Throught the day and evining, the Rainbow flag of Gay Pride flew over the Town Hall at half-mast.

Sydney is home to the world famous annual Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardis Gras.
