Shinzo Abe tragically dies after being shot during campaign speech

Shinzo Abe has been fighting for his life for five hours since being admitted to the hospital by helicopter. He has sadly died after suffering fatal wounds. He was aged 67.

Right now, many tributes have flown with the current Prime Minister in great disbelief over the news. Previously, PM Kishida expressed that he hopes Abe recovers from his injury. 

“I have great respect for the legacy Shinzo Abe left behind and I pay the deepest condolences to him,”

Thus far, no motives have been identified except for the shooter admitting that he wanted to kill the former Prime Minister Abe.

To date, Shinzo Abe will be the longest reigning Prime Minister after he resigned back in 2020 after people began to lose faith in him. This follows the arrest of his former justice minister. 

Shinzo Abe reportedly bled to death

However, Abe still played a critical role in what Japan is today. Thus far, the former PM made advancements for Japan following threats from China and Korea. 

Right now, The Guardian reports that the suspect did not attempt to flee the scene after he shot Shinzo Abe. The former PM suffered fatal injuries with one bullet shot in his neck. So far, the suspect is reported to have worn grew trousers with grey trainers and a surgical mask.  

Presently, Shinzo Abe is reported to have bled to death after suffering two deep wounds. He reportedly passed on at approximately 5:03 pm on Friday. 

So far, the police have found some remains of a homemade gun that was used by the Nara resident. Since Japan’s laws for obtaining a gun is extremely strict, this made it impossible for the killer to obtain one.
