Scott Morrison tests positive for Covid-19 on Tuesday

Scott Morrison will be isolated for a week following his positive PCR test. This comes as the minister felt light symptoms on Tuesday. He was expected to attend an event on Tuesday evening but had to withdraw because of the latter.

While the minister will be isolated, he relayed that he will still be carrying out his duties as Prime Minister. His wife and two daughters have also been tested for the virus but the results came back negative. They will be isolated for 7 days as per NSW’s new rules. 

Thus far, Scott Morrison is experiencing light symptoms of the virus as he appears to have slight flu-like symptoms. The minister will be isolated at his home in Sydney.  Morrison confirmed late on Tuesday night that he had tested positive for the virus. 

“I am experiencing flu-like symptoms and will be recovering over the next week,”

Supporting Russia

While Scott Morrison is isolated, he made a point of focussing on being in communication about Ukraine. As previously reported, Russia has made a large point of inflicting a lot of damage on Ukraine. Many other countries are extending a helping hand at this time.

On Tuesday, Scott Morrison was also meant to attend the Sydney Opera House on Tuesday night as reported by 7News. The sails of the landmark were lit up by the colors of the Ukrainian flag. The Prime minister was forced to withdraw from this event. 

The Prime Minister has also expressed his concerns about the flooding happening in Queensland and New South of Wales. The areas affected have since gotten sandbags to protect their homes. 

Scott Morrison is one of the many politicians that have tested positive thus far. Defense Minister Peter Dutton was one of the first people who tested positive for the virus in 2020.
