Little Bay beach temporarily closes after shark attack

Little Bay beach has experienced a tragic shark attack incident on Wednesday the 16th. A witness relayed that the was a lot of commotion going on in the water during the attack. This region is reportedly a very popular fishing destination. 

Victim suffers fatal injuries at Little Bay Beach

According to The Guardian, there was nothing the paramedics or doctors could do when they arrived on the scene. The police patrol has also reported that human remains were found in the region of the attack. 

“Unfortunately, this person had suffered catastrophic injuries as a result of the attack and there was nothing paramedics could do when we arrived on scene,”

As reported by 7News, this would be one of the first shark attacks that New South of Wales can recall recently. One of the first shark attacks was dated back in 1955 and reportedly involved bull sharks. The shark involved in the fatal attack on Wednesday was reportedly 4 meters long. 

Traumatic attack shocked the community

Residents nearby have been shocked by the news of the shark attack while some will not dare to set foot in the beach waters again. Presently, the police are currently investigating the particulars of the attack on the victim.

“It was terrible, I am shaking. I keep vomiting, it’s very upsetting.” a witness told ABC

Presently, lifeguards will be patrolling the area to spot any more sharks in the vicinity. They will be patrolling the area for 24 hours. Currently, all Randwick beaches are closed. 

As relayed by 7News, the area in which people went fishing is treacherous and someone who doesn’t know the area would not know how to handle it well. Other individuals at the beach during the attack did not know what was going on until afterward.
