Cyclone Marcia continues to wreak havoc up and down the eastern coast of Australia.
Rockhampton experienced some of the worst of the storm’s fury, with gale force winds and torrential rain pounding the regional Queensland city on Friday.
Local resident Thomas Jehle posted this amazing video to Facebook, showing the swollen Fitzroy River raging through town.
By Friday night, Cyclone Marcia had been downgraded to a category 2 system, having been a category 5 when it crossed the Queensland coast in the morning. It is expected to weaken further as it travels south, however further heavy rains and flooding are expected.
