AUSTRALIAN sports professionals living and working in the UK will be meeting in London on Tuesday 6 December.
The group has been set up to assist those Australians who work in the sporting industry here in the UK in a networking capacity. There will be three to four meetings annually, where members can enjoy a drink together and listen to a guest speaker, with these events scheduled around major sporting events such as Wimbledon, The Ashes and the Olympics.
The group has been founded by Aussie Miles Rose, who, having lived in London for three and a half years working in the sporting industry, saw the opportunity after visiting a similar event in 2010.
“Like a lot of Australians I’m really passionate about sport, and to be lucky enough to share that passion in my career, I see this as a perfect vehicle to meet and enjoy the company of like minded individuals”.
A group has been setup on LinkedIn, making it easy for members to communicate with each other. This is where members can share information about their own events, post job vacancies or simply ask their colleagues for some assistance. The first event is being held on Tuesday 6 December in Marylebone.
