Australians all, let us rejoice. A new national anthem has been bestowed upon us as we gear up for a massive Australia Day on 26 January. Melbourne’s Terry Mann has reworked the lyrics of Outkast’s ‘Hey Ya’ into an extremely catchy tune with lyrics like:
“You think you’ve got it,
Oh you think you’ve got it,
But have you got a rock where there is nothing at all?”
The music video is chock-a-block with clichéd images of Australian life. All the stereotypes are there, and some. But it’s raking in the views on Youtube, with over 800,000 at the moment, all because it’s so damn catchy.
