Triple J Hottest 100 – the full list

Triple J Hottest 100 of 2011 – the full list, as announced on Australia Day 2012

WELL, here it is. The full and complete list of this year’s Triple J Hottest 100 – the world’s largest radio listeners poll of favourite songs.

A quick explanation for our foreign friends: The Hottest 100 poll is carried out from December each year by Australia’s national youth radio network, Triple J. Listeners can nominate and then vote online for their favourite song released (in Australia) over the last year. The results are then announced and played by the network one by one, on Australia Day (26 January). Listening to the Triple J Hottest 100 live countdown has become a tradition at Australia Day parties around the world.

OK, so we all knew it would be Gotye at number 1 this year, didn’t we? But there’s still plenty of surprises.
