Chris Bailey: The Saints band member dies at age 64

Chris Bailey was the lead singer in the band The Saints. The group officially took off in 1973 and was founded by Chris and his two high school friends.

The Saints did not immediately get the recognition for their music in Australia but managed to top the charts by coming 39th for their song “Stranded”.

As Chris and his group continued to pave the way for punk music and were described by others to be punk before punk actually existed. 

A close friend of Chris Bailey and his former band member Ed Keupper shared a few words about his late friend and reflected on the time their friendship first came to life. 

“Chris and I met when we were about 14 during detention at Oxley High School and became close friends which later developed into what I always thought was an extremely strong artistic partnership,”

Success for The Saints

As reported by ABC News, Chris Bailey and his two friends co-founded the band The Saints. It eventually came to prominence in 1976. 

Thus far, The Saints group to which Chris Bailey belonged, took to social media on Monday morning to confirm the death of the legendary. Which was on the 9th of April.

So, one of the group’s most popular songs includes Stranded which details the life of growing up in Brisbane. It became part of the top 30 songs of all time by APRA. 

Right now, the band has not confirmed or relayed any cause of death of the singer. Till today, Chris Bailey will be remembered for his magical way of putting feelings in lyrics. As well as detailing experiences others could not begin to describe.
