Adidas sports bra advertisement banned in the UK for explicitness

Adidas sports bras are popular all over and they did not gain attention for that exact reason. Some users felt that the advertisement for their latest range. 

Body positive advertising gone wrong

Right now, a group of social media users has reported the advertisement. As they claim it sexualizes women and only depicts an image of them as sexual objects.

At the moment, the Adidas ad is gaining attention for all the wrong reasons. Thus far, their message has only been misconstrued. Instead of in a positive light. But, all is not lost as it is only banned in the UK.

“Although we did not consider that the way the women were portrayed was sexually explicit or objectified them, we considered that the depiction of naked breasts was likely to be seen as explicit nudity.

Adidas advertisement banned in the UK

Thus far, the aim of the Adidas advertisement was to celebrate women in all their different sizes. The ad shows women of different colors, shapes, and sizes exposing their breasts. With the image cropping their heads of course. 

In the effort to bring positivity, instead, Adidas received a lot of negativity as 24 people reported the advertisement on Twitter. Right now, Twitter has reviewed the advertisement but has found no fault as it doesn’t breach their terms. 

So far, Adidas has already shared its thoughts on the matter. They shared that their advertisement aimed to show their new range. This range consists of different bra sizes that will fit any woman.

All year round, advertisements are released. This time around the people were not impressed by it, to say the least.
