Membership Relations position for Australian Business UK

AUSTRALIAN Business UK is a not for profit membership-based organisation, bringing together professionals and companies in the United Kingdom who have Australian interests and connections, through business networking opportunities and events.

Summary of the role and responsibilities

  • Provide advice to the Executive Director to help shape strategy, including organisational initiatives
  • Grow the membership through reactive and proactive business development activities
  • Develop and executive membership retention strategies, including through strategic partnerships
  • Deliver on the above by understanding members’ business and marketing strategies, identifying how they can maximise benefits through the network and sponsorship and marketing opportunities, and building business relationships between members
  • Help the Executive Director develop sponsorship proposals for events and approaching potential sponsors
  • Provide advice on marketing strategy, communications and event planning activities
  • Assist in planning and delivering events, including guest-list strategy and approaches
  • Seek contributions from members and partners to assist with member communications
  • Provide written membership reports for Australian Business Board Meetings

 Knowledge and Skills Required

  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including stakeholder management
  • Strong presentation and written communication skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and effective time management, with the ability to prioritise and focus on delivering key objectives
  • A committed, enthusiastic and well-presented individual
  • The ability to work in a team and independently, and attend events out of hours if required
  • Sound judgement and decision making skills, with the ability to think creatively to solve problems
  • An interest in and affinity with Australia
  • Tertiary educated in one of the following: Business/ Management/ Marketing/ Communications
  • Experience in business development would be helpful
