Qantas Australian Woman of the Year in the UK Award 2014: finalists announced

The winner of the Qantas Australian Woman of the Year will be announced at a reception in Australia House on 11 March. Attending the Award reception will be The Hon Julie Bishop MP, Australian Minister for Foreign Affairs, as part of an upcoming visit to London in her new role.

The finalists are:

Carole Berndt, Global Head of Transaction Services, RBS.

Carole is a 20 year veteran of the financial services industry. Her current role as Global Head is the culmination of a career that has encompassed a range of industries, roles and has seen her work in Asia, the Americas and now in Europe.

Ann-Maree Morrison, Managing Director and Founder, Labels4Kids Ltd.

Ann-Maree has grown Label4Kids to be one of the most prominent online retailers for name tags in the UK. Her expertise in E-Commerce has led to Ann-Maree being appointed onto the UK Government E-Commerce task force to advise on growing E-Commerce in Europe.

Kelly O’Rourke, Senior Manager Strategy and Performance, BHP Billiton

Kelly is the youngest person and first female appointed to this role which is offered to potential business leaders.  The responsibilities are similar to that of a Chief of Staff, and include contributing to strategy setting, bi-annual business appraisals and supporting the CEO’s day-to-day activities.

Sarah Ramwell, Corporate Social Responsibility Manager, EMEA, Reed Smith LLP

Sarah is a lawyer with a specialty in women’s rights.  Since 2010 she has run the Corporate Social Responsibility programme at Reed Smith, a leading global law firm, across Europe, the Middle East and Asia where she focuses on pro bono, volunteering, environment and diversity.
