Climate Change is the central topic for the Google Doodle celebrating earth day. In the Google Doodle, users will be able to see the impact it has had on the environment.
Google Doodle tracks Climate Change over 40 years
Thus far, the global phenomenon has had an immense impact on the environment and the images spanning over 40 years show us the difference between then and now.
While Climate Change has been a topic of conversation for several years, our planet is still experiencing extreme changes as a result of humans and the natural change in the environment.
Well, let’s be honest, the real result of Climate Change is through the amount of carbon dioxide that is immersed in the air by factories and the like.
Four different regions tracked
By 2050, the goal for some companies is to emit less carbon dioxide and eventually release and balanced amount of carbon dioxide in the air that we breathe. Essentially mitigating the climate change effects.
On Australian borders, we find the coral bleaching on Australia’s Great Barrier Reef. The image taken in 2016 shows just the amount of damage done or climate change in just one year. This is a result of the increasing water levels and bleaching events.
Right now, more than 75% of Lizard Island’s corals have been destroyed.
Changes in the different regions
In Germany, plants and trees have been suffering due to beetle invasion as well as drought. This is also largely due to the warmer weather experienced.

As for South Africa, Mount Kilimanjaro, the region’s highest peak has lost more than 90% of its ice as reported by Forbes. It is surmised that in 25 years, the ice will be completely gone.
Lastly, Greenland’s ice is melting at an alarming rate as it was tracked in the last 100 years.
