Rebecca Maddern has issued an apology to 7News after a leaked tape trended on Twitter. Both Rebecca and Mike Amor had a few words about Novak Djokovic. While this might have taken place between the two of them, others certainly have opinions on the impact it has.

Rebecca Maddern on Djokovic court case

On Monday, Novak Djokovic won a court battle regarding his Visa. In light of this, Djokovic allegedly tested positive for Covid on 16th December. He has since been doing social appearances. This caused some outrage in the public.

Rebecca Maddern expressed that “life is unfair and others get to fly first class” referring to Djokovic getting away with lying about his Covid-19 status.

Since Novak Djokovic appeared in court, his fans have shown him support amidst his scandal. Djokovic’s family also showed him support in a press conference.

In light of this controversy, many feel that Novak should not be able to take part in the Australian open next week. Some of those people include Rebecca Maddern and Mike Amor. Both Rebecca Maddern and Mike had some words on what they thought about the whole Djokovic ordeal.

Djokovic to participate in the Australian Open

According to some, Rebecca Maddern shouldn’t apologize for anything as this video was leaked during a time the reporter was un-guarded and spoke her truth. While Djokovic is still able to participate in the Australian Open, he still faces a chance of being deported.

In social media posts, right after he allegedly tested positive for the coronavirus, Djokovic made social appearances two days after he received his test results. He is also seen taking pictures with children without wearing a mask.

7News Investigating leaked footage

So, there is quite a bit of opinion going around about whether Djokovic lied on his form to compete in the Australian Open. Rebecca Maddern and Amor are just one of the many people who are also speculating on Novak Djokovic’s actions.

During this time, 7News issued a statement that an investigation will be well underway to find out who leaked the tape while the reporters were speaking on a “hot mic”. The network is allegedly furious at what took place and has relayed that it was illegal to leak such footage.
