Omicron variant symptoms are far less impactful on the body than other variants that have made their way through during the pandemic.
According to a study conducted by the CDC, individuals who are affected by the coronavirus variant will experience much fewer symptoms than they have with other variants.
Omicron Variant Study Shows Fewer Symptoms
The study by the Centers for Disease and Control suggests that people who have been infected with Covid-19 before will experience lighter symptoms than they did with their previous infection.
In this study, six people in one household were examined on the impact of the variant on the body. One person was fully vaccinated but had not received the booster shot.
With that being said, another study conducted prior to the CDC suggested that the Omicron Variant rates of infection are much higher than that of the delta variant.
In light of this information, it was found that one person who was unvaccinated experienced symptoms such as muscle pains, sore throat, fever, congestion, and chills.
Variant Less Impactful than Delta
At this point, it is considered good news for the Omicron Variant as the infection crisis is not that severe compared to the Delta variant.
Since this is the case, the best bet towards decreasing the impact of the virus on the body as well as decreasing the number of serious infections is to vaccinate as the study shows fully vaccinated people experience less severe symptoms.
At the same time, the incubation period for the omicron variant is much less than the incubation period for the Delta variant in that it can be detected in approximately three days compared to four or more days with the delta variant.
So far, shows that vaccines are able to protect us from severe illness even though we’re still susceptible to the virus.
