Five reasons your family should become Harlequins supporters

Do you remember the times you were taken to rugby matches as a child? Does your family crave more opportunities to watch world class rugby more than once a year when the Wallabies are in town?

If you aren’t aware, just across the road from the international rugby stadium of Twickenham is a 14,800 seater rugby stadium called the Twickenham Stoop. The Stoop is the home of Harlequins Rugby Club and has been for over 50 years.

If you needed a reason to bring the family down to The Stoop to watch a game of rugby, five of the most important reasons are below:

1. World class rugby

Harlequins has 15 internationally capped players in their senior squad and eight of those recently represented England, Fiji, Wales and Scotland in the 2015 Rugby World Cup including the current England captain Chris Robshaw.

These players appear for Harlequins at every home fixture in the Aviva Premiership and the European Rugby Challenge Cup. Come and see our internationals playing for their club in one of the world’s toughest domestic competitions.

2. It’s on your doorstep

Not far from the ‘boerewors belt’, Twickenham is only eight miles away from Wimbledon, Putney and Fulham with direct trains from the first two locations. The District Line is available from Parson’s Green, Fulham Broadway and Earl’s Court tube stations making the Twickenham Stoop your local rugby venue!

3. The matchday experience

With 15,000 passionate Quins supporters cheering and urging on the team, amazing food from a range of outlets and multiple bars around the ground, coupled with exhilarating Quins style rugby at affordable prices- the day will not disappoint!

4. The kit

adidas, one of Harlequins’ Principal Partners has supplied the home and away kit since 2014 and it is one of the most colourful and recognisable strips in the world. On match days (and week days), the Club shops are open for you to have a look around with shirts, scarfs, hats, hoodies and all types of other merchandise for you to make your own.

5.The style of play

Harlequins pride themselves on their ability to run with ball in hand and excite and thrill their audience and supporters with the way they play. The four principles the Quins players stick to and play by known as ‘Quins style’ is tempo, enjoyment, unpredictability and ruthlessness. Come and see for yourself in one of our upcoming fixtures.
