The hit reality show I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! is about to dominate Aussie television screens. Viewers will watch B-grade (or less) celebs fight for survival in a secret location just outside the Kruger Park in South Africa.

Naturally, the contestants will be just a stone throw away from lions, elephants, hippos and and other life threatening beasts. But we have it on good authority from our colleagues at TheSouthAfrican.com it’s these guys that are most likely to illicit screams from the contestants at the campsite and during their tasks and make us crawl into the back of our sofas as we scream in schadenfreudic delight.

BABOON SPIDER: Super hairy and part of the tarantula subfamily. An African huntsman, basically

BLACK MAMBA: This snake is so venemous, it has African legends about it and Tarrantino characters named in its honour

DUNG BEETLE: Pretty harmless and plays with poop all day, but not too comfy in your sleeping bag

ASIAN TIGER MOSQUITO: These guys invaded South Africa in 1990, and a bite from a mozzies in Africa can end up more than a bit itchy

MILLIPEDE (SHONGOLOLO): Way bigger and badder than its Aussie cousin. It secretes an itch-inducing liquid

RED LOCUST: These guys are generally pretty peaceful, but pretty frisky too. A bit gooey and crunchy though in bush tucker trials

THE ROCK MONITOR: This lizard can weigh up to 8kg and give any goanna a run for its money as an inquisitive I’m a Celeb campsite visitor
