Queen, fronted by Adam Lambert, set to tour Australia in August.

“This may be the last chance Australian fans have to see one of the greatest rock bands in history,” — band promoter Paul Dainty.

Queen - Adam Lambert

1010672_10152059046228651_2020301477_nLiving forever is British pop band Queen who will visit Australia with their own brand of magic in August this year.

The performance will include enormously talented Adam Lambert as vocal front man. A befitting replacement for the late great Freddie Mercury, Lambert is sure to do the legend and legacy that is Mr Mercury justice.

10390232_10152173910247362_6381049424336428811_nAustralian’s will be treated to Queen’s performance in August this year — the first time since their 1985 performance on Aussie soil, 6 years before Mercury’s untimely death.

Rumoured to possibly be the group’s last performance, the band will make appearances at the Perth Arena on 22 August, Sydney’s Allphones Area on 26 August, Rod Laver Arena in Melbourne on August 29 and Brisbane Entertainment Centre on 1 September.

The tour will include original Queen guitarist Brian May and drummer Roger Taylor.

Lambert has been working with Queen since he first appeared on the American Idols reality show in 2009.  His spectacular vocal range would have made Mercury proud to pass the banner to this deserving talent.

“This may be the last chance Australian fans have to see one of the greatest rock bands in history,” promoter Paul Dainty said.

Lambert, who has been a Queen die-hard fan, said he is in complete awe of the Queen phenomenon. He successfully auditioned for Idols with his haunting rendition of the Queen classic Bohemian Rhapsody. “The thought of sharing the stage for a full set in Australia is so beautifully surreal. I’m honoured to be able to pay my respects to Freddie’s memory; he’s a personal hero of mine, and I am deeply grateful for the chance to sing such powerful music for fans of this legendary band.

“I know this tour will be a huge milestone for me, and with the support of Brian, Roger and the rest of the band, I feel like magic will be on display,” mused Lambert when asked about the upcoming Australian tour.

The band’s last album, The Cosmos Rocks, peaked at No. 49 in Australia in 2008, but reached the Top 5 in the UK.

Tickets go on sale on 28 May.
