Male breast tissue is no joke, and with nearly 66% of British males overweight, man boobs, or gynecomastia, is on the rise.

The reason men get man boobs is not always because they are overweight. Things like, medication, taking illegal drugs and hormonal inbalances can be to blame too, but the most common cause is being overweight, so you’ll need to take a good long hard look at your diet and exercise regime.

If you are suffering with a set of man boobs that are bigger than some females, you need to take action and quick. It is possible to get rid of man boobs, and to keep them at bay for the rest of your life, so read on and see how you can get rid of your moobs forever.

I need to exercise, right?

When it comes to getting rid of man boobs, if they are caused by diet and exercise, or lack of it, then in theory, they should be fairly easy to get rid of. However, you must realise that without the commitment needed for any diet or exercise plan to work, it won’t happen overnight.

One common misconception is that getting rid of your man boobs involves chest exercises and nothing else. This is simply not true. You need to combine both cardio exercise with a strength program designed to target your problem areas.

Talk to your local gym. Chances are they won’t be surprised by your question, and will help you construct a regime that is right for you.

What about food? Is this the answer?

When it comes to food, this can combat more than just the one cause of man boobs. If it’s a hormonal imbalance that’s to blame, then you need to eat a good healthy diet in order to combat this too. Reduce alcohol, sugar and processed foods and you’ll start to see a difference.

I’ve tried diets and exercise, but I’ve not been able to shift them. What’s next?

If all else fails you do have an option with surgery. Male chest reduction surgery uses the same techniques as liposuction or fat removal surgery in order to suck out the fatty tissue contained in the breast area and offers a quick fix with a short recovery time. According to Dr Jeremy Hunt, a specialist cosmetic surgeon in Edgecliff, Sydney, Gynaecomastia is designed to give a flatter contour, with recovery times taking between two to four weeks.

According to Dr. Hunt, this operation can have a great effect on self-confidence of men suffering with gynecomastia and is surprisingly affordable.

It’s also extremely quick, with no general anesthetic required and the actual procedure itself only taking an hour or two at the most. It’s a very quick fix in order to be able to have more confidence when going to the gym, sunbathing on the beach or swimming. It might even help you change the exercise you do, by giving you even more confidence to take your top off at you do it.
