The Wigan Warriors take on French side Catalan Dragons at the home of Millwall FC this Saturday, 5th September, in a bid to grow the Club in the capital.
On the ‘London Calling’ project, Warriors prop forward Taulima Tautai admitted: “We are quite relaxed about it.
“I think we went into the game unprepared when we last played them away in France earlier on in the season.
“They gave it to us and got the win but I think after our performance against Warrington shows that we’re in a good position now to really play our best football.
“The fact of us playing in London doesn’t really change anything for us.
“I think it is good publicity for the game, the club and the sport.”
Due to the Challenge Cup Final being played at Wembley last week, Wigan had a free weekend but remained in training to prepare for Saturday’s crunch clash.
“We just fine-tuned a couple of things,” Tautai said.
“I think all the boys needed it, we came in feeling fresh with a couple more sessions before the game so now, I am just really looking forward to it.
“There is no such thing as an actual week off here because we always want to improve and take ourselves to the next level – we have a reputation to live up to here at Wigan.”
On the Challenge Cup Final, the former NRL star joked: “I didn’t watch it. I was having a barbecue with the kids – that was probably my day off!
“I think being knocked out will definitely motivate us.
“Leeds are a good team but we feel like it should have been us there. I think if we put our best foot forward – I think we can stop them from taking all three trophies.”
Wigan Warriors face Catalans Dragons in the Super League Super 8s at The Den, Millwall on Saturday 5th September.
