The loss, in which London Irish came away with a losing bonus-point, leaves the Exiles in seventh place in the Gallagher Premiership table, with two rounds to go.

“I think there was a theme throughout that whole game. We let ourselves down on small areas and small bits of detail, and it cost us” explained Sean O’Brien.

“It was a quiet dressing room, and we are all very disappointed.”

“We will have to point the fingers at ourselves this week, have a harsh review on Monday and prepare for next weekend.

“I said it in the huddle afterwards, at times we were unrecognisable to the team that we were in the past few weeks. That’s the positive side of it.

“But we must know how to win these types of games. We have to be on it for 80 minutes, as we’ve learnt tonight.

“Hopefully a lot of the younger guys will learn from the experience of tonight, it’s a very tricky place to come and play,” Sean O’Brien concluded.
