Australian big-hitting talisman Glenn Maxwell has stunned the cricket world again, this time by blitzing Sri Lanka at home in successive T20 matches.
Maxwell helped seal Australia’s 2-0 win of the T20 series with a frightening 66 off just 29 balls, reaching the half-century mark off just 18 deliveries to equal his own national record for fastest T20 fifty, on the way to a 13-ball victory for the green and gold.

This came just three days after Maxwell’s astonishing 145 not out off a mere 65 balls in the first T20 encounter of the two-match series with the Sri Lankan hosts.
That devastating knock steered Australia to a score of 3/263, a world record international T20 score and equal world record score for any T20 match (alongside the 5/263 notched up by the Royal Challengers Bangalore against the Pune Warriors in the IPL in 2013).

And Maxi wasn’t picked for the ODI series?
And because you are wondering… The world record T20 score still belongs to Chris Gayle who smashed 175 not out in that now world record equaling team innings in the IPL.
