Spotify back up after hour-long shutdown on Tuesday

Spotify appeared to have some connectivity issues for approximately an hour. Users all over the world lost access to their playlist and streaming service.

Spotify users back to streaming again

Now, it is ultimately not unnatural for online services to go offline for some time in the digital age.  Around 175 000 Spotify users were unable to sign in to their accounts as the error saying “you have been logged out” appeared repeatedly.

The streaming service relayed that something doesn’t look quite right and was looking into it. They are currently still investigating the cause of the shutdown of the service as reported by CNET.

Not too long after, Spotify made sure to notify its users that they are working on the issue. And that they will be informed when it’s up and running again.

Connectivity lost for an hour

An hour later, in UK time, the online streaming service was back up and running after being offline for some time. The reason behind the technical difficulty is not known but the service is running to its full capacity again.

To date, Spotify has up to 400 million users on the platform with 180 million being paying customers. Ultimately, the streaming service allows you to stream music ad-free if you’re a paying customer as well as download music for offline listening.

Non-paying customers will have to settle for listening with ad interruptions as well as being unable to download music for offline listening.

Presently, Spotify offers a good amount of things to stream such as music, podcasts as well as shows. They offer a range of different artists and podcasts on almost anything you would fancy.
