SCOTLAND Yard detectives have travelled to Australia from the UK to interview a Sydney woman in relation to the current investigation into sexual abuse claims made against Australian entertainer Rolf Harris.
It has been reported by Fairfax media the woman, who lives in Sydney’s north-west outskirts, was visited on Thursday by the British detectives, escorted by an Australian Federal Police officer.
Channel Seven have reported the woman first contacted police in November last year about an incident she claimed to have witnessed in the early 1990s.
The AFP have refused to comment, saying they were not the lead investigators in the case.
Mr Harris, 83, is being investigated by the Operation Yewtree taskforce, set up following the Jimmy Savile scandal. The claims against Mr Harris are unrelated to Savile.
Mr Harris has been questioned twice, but has not been charged by UK police.
He is understood to deny any wrongdoing.
