Shane Warne says London police have cleared him over claims he punched a porn star

Shane Warne says police have cleared him over claims that he assaulted a women at a London nightclub.

In a media statement released on Monday morning, the Australian cricket legend said the allegation that he had punched Valerie Fox (pictured above – via Twitter) was “false” and that police had cleared him after viewing CCTV footage.

“I was shocked to read the media stories circulating earlier today concerning a false allegation of assault,” Warne’s statement said.

“I have fully co-operated with the police, and they have now had the opportunity of seeing CCTV and speaking to witnesses. The police have confirmed to me that I have been cleared of the allegation and that no further action will be taken.

“This is now the end of the matter.

“Thanks for all the kind messages of support”

According to reports, 30-year-old Valerie Fox filed a complaint with London police after an alleged incident at exclusive private members club Loulou’s on Friday night.

Ms Fox, who is a model and porn star, tweeted a photograph of herself on Saturday with a black eye.

Proud of yourself? Hitting a woman? Vile creature,” she tweeted.
