Rod Marsh dies at 74 after suffering a heart attack a week ago

Rod Marsh was an exceptional wicket-keeper and had found a love for cricket when he was just a young boy. As he continued playing the sport until he got older, he had found himself becoming one of the legends in cricket. 

In the week of February 24th, Rod Marsh was taken to hospital after his heart had stopped. The event organizers who were with him at the time accompanied him to the hospital. He was attending a charity event at the time. 

Cricket great, Rod Marsh experienced heart failure before his death

It was later then confirmed that Rod Marsh had suffered a heart attack at the charity event in Bundaberg. He was simultaneously taken in at Adelaide hospital where his condition was declared critical by his family. Marsh was in an induced coma at the time. 

The cricket world is currently suffering a great loss and is mourning the loss of an all-time great cricket player. Not only was Rod Marsh a wicket-keeper but he found that his greatest strength was batting. 

The iron fists last days

Some days before his passing, Rodney Marsh was speaking to one of his former cricket players and expressed how he couldn’t wait to catch up with a beer sometime. Sadly, on the morning of the 4th of March, Rod Marsh passed on at the hospital in Adelaide as reported by ABC News.

In his impressive career, Rodney Marsh was known to be a commentator, an administrator, and a coach. He was inducted into the ICC cricket hall of fame. After being elected to the Sport Australia Hall of Fame 24 years later.

While many took some time to recognize the rising star, Rodney paid no mind to the little faith in him in his early days. Rodney Marsh leaves behind his wife Roslyn Marsh and three sons Jamie, Dan, and Paul Marsh.
