Kinder surprise products recalled as Easter approaches again

Kinder surprise products are on the verge of being bought again as Easter approaches. The food safety authority and Ferrero have been working together to ensure the safety of their customers.

Thus far, an estimated amount of 100 children have been affected by what has been linked to salmonella. 

So far, several hospital cases have been reported with an illness that relates to bloody diarrhea. All of these cases have been reported to have occurred in children. Who are the most likely to consume the Kinder surprise products. 

Right now, not all of the Kinder products are dangerous. But a good amount of them will be pulled from the racks. 

Precautions before Easter

According to INews, some of the Kinder products include the mini eggs, the egg hunt kit, the schokobons, as well as the 100 grams Kinder surprise products. 

For those purchasing their products ahead of easter time, the expiry dates to look out for are as follows. Some of the packages in the products listed above include those from the 7th of April until the 7th of October. 

Customers are urged not to purchase these products as they risk themselves becoming ill after consumption.  Other dates include products from the 20th of April until the 21st of August.

As reported by ABC News, the Kinder surprise 20g single and three-pack eggs in pink, white, and blue are not affected. Ferrero has reported that none of their other products are affected. 

To date, these products have been sold from retailers and food stores all around. This includes Big W, K mart, Woolworths, and Coles.

Those who have already purchased the above-recalled products will receive a full refund when brought back to the store. They are urged not to consume any of the products.
