Face mask rules will now become mandatory after two new Omicron cases have been detected over the weekend. Right now, there are 80 Omicron cases recorded.

Face Mask Mandate Returns To Perth and Peel Regions

At this time, more exposure sites have been added to the list. This includes a massage business called New U Massage in Mount Lawley. Anyone who feels unwell is urged to get tested regularly and self-isolate until it is safe to come out in public again.

The Omicron variant is putting significant strain on the Western Australian State during this time.

Omicron Surge Predicted Before

Now, individuals residing in Perth and Peel regions are encouraged to wear a face mask indoors to curb the spread of the virus. If you have traveled out of the state you are encouraged to wear a mask indoors as well.

The surge in Omicron infections has been predicted before. However, it seems the impact on the state is slowly coming into effect at this time. Before the outbreak of the Omicron variant, many other events have been canceled.

According to abc.net.au, exposure sites are still being identified and updated. Australians are encouraged to check the HealthyWA website for any changes on the pandemic as well as exposure sites.

Currently, the newly recorded cases are said to be highly contagious which expedited the mask mandate coming into effect. Those who are still unvaccinated are encouraged to get vaccinated as soon as possible in fear that the Omicron surge might not be able to be controlled.
