Different types of automobile fluids you meed to maintain

It’s hard to keep track of all the different types of fluids your car requires and what each of them is used for.

This article will teach how to check your fluids, as it’s a very inexpensive task, which if neglected can lead to an expensive task.

Motor Oil

Motor oil is used in engines to keep all the parts lubricated, as the different parts of the engine move together and rub on each other, causing friction, which leads to heat; therefore the motor oil helps the engine from overheating.

In order to check your oil, all you need to do is go for a drive and then let the car cool down, open the hood and you will notice oil stick in the tank that is typically found in the top front of the engine from where you are standing. Pull it out of the oil tank and wipe the oil with a towel, and then put it back into the oil tank. take it out again and pay close attention to how high the oil is at,  if the oil line ends at a safe oil level then it should be fine, but if you find it to be too low, then you can go get the proper oil required for your car, and fill it in yourself.

Transmission Fluid

Transmission fluid is typically coloured in red or green to be able to differentiate between motor oil and any other fluids used in the vehicle, transmission fluid is used to keep your gearbox oiled.

Similar to the motor oil dipstick, there should be another dipstick for the transmission fluid; you require to repeat the same process with the dipstick for the transmission fluid; pull it out, wipe it with cloth, put it back in, pull it back out and see the level of where the transmission fluid is. It is also necessary to see the standard of the transmission fluid if you see certain particles and get a burnt odour, then it means it is time to change it.

Keeping proper care of the transmission fluid is important, if not done so, it can lead to the occurrence of expensive issues; if so make sure to visit the nearest mechanic no matter what city you have to go to, be it automatic transmission repair Brisbane or Adelaide.

Brake Fluid

This is the certain oil that’s used to help amplify the brake force. This oil component is located at the far end of the engine compartment; you are required to properly clean the outside of the tank as, if any dirt gets mixed with the fluid, it can damage your system. All you need to do is take off the cap and look into it to see how high or low the level of your fluid is, the tank is typically supposed to be half of a inch lower than the lid. If the level of oil is too low, add more. Make sure to look at the colour as, if it is too dark, it is a sign to get it replaced.
